European shares slip after Street skid, paced by miners
LONDON (MarketWatch) - European shares lost ground on Tuesday, as a capital injection for U.S. lender Citigroup and a well-received update from banking group Barclays failed to offset declines in the mining sector as economic growth worries lingered.



Sanyo Electric shares jump as firm swings to first-half profit
HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- Sanyo Electric Co. on Tuesday reported that it swung to a fiscal first-half profit from a year-earlier loss, benefiting from a restructuring and a cash infusion from Goldman Sachs and other investors, and it affirmed its outlook for the year.
